The Crucifers are going to be celebrating the conclusion of the Jubilee year by walking on pilgrimage between the three Sacred Heart Churches in the diocese. This trip will last over three days and cover over 130 miles! Our two squires, Chad & Kurtis, have pledged to combine walk the whole way to fulfill a prowess quest for the order, and our Auxiliary members Pat & Jason will be helping out walking and running a sprinter van for support.
During our pilgrimage, we will reverently visit three of the pilgrimage sites designated for the Sacred Heart Jubilee Year to receive a plenary indulgence. This pilgrimage will be a physical challenge but we will also renewed our commitment to live as disciples of Christ, by visiting these special holy sites designated by our Bishop.
The route is approximately 133 scenic miles and covers multiple counties with over 2000 feet in elevation changes. We will be traveling from Cardington Sacred Hearts to Coshocton and then Columbus Sacred Heart Parishes. Along the way we also hope to stop for prayer outside or inside St. Vincent De Paul, St. Francis De Sales, Blessed Sacrament, and St. Edward the Confessor.
We will be kicking off after Mass at Sacred Hearts Cardington for 8:45am Mass on Thursday June 12th.
Our first stop is Coshocton's Sacred Heart Parish for 9:00am Mass on the 13th, so the guys will be trying to make the 60 miles walking shifts both night and day.
Our final location is to make 4:00pm Mass in Columbus for Vigil in the evening of the 14th.
Integral in any pilgrimage, the walkers will be often engaged in prayer. We would like to open up a portion of the journey to the public. Please submit a prayer request and we will remember it as we walk.
